In 1985, sixteen Walla Wallans came together to create a support system for people dying of AIDS. They prioritized their clients' dignity, privacy, and care. Dr. Dick Simon estimated our agency helped more than 250 people die with dignity in the early days of the AIDS crisis, until newer medications shifted HIV diagnosis to a manageable condition. Since those years we have grown to expand our care for people living with HIV/AIDS to clinical service that includes primary care, mobile care, preventive medicine, and medical and non-medical support for people living with substance use disorder. All along our practice of harm reduction philosophies has helped us keep a steady commitment to people on the edges of our community. It's a commitment of honor and hard work to help people help themselves to a better life.
Please celebrate with us and help fund our efforts at our latest gathering, once again in the Foundry Vineyard's beautiful setting, with live music from Rogue Lobster, fresh and healthy bites from La Monarca, local desserts from Colville Street Patisserie, and a variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. We will have a silent auction as well. The board and staff of "the little agency that could" welcome you to join us on a special night!
